Rebuilt the kit rear shocks by separating the top and bottom caps and replacing the shcoks with telescoping aluminium tube, and making the springs for the coilovers with solder - will extend the solder to make springs when the build is complete.
Built up the rear end painted drive shaft oily steel...

On to the motor - stripped down my gluebomb exterminator motor (told it's a Ford Model Y engine) to a short block and grafted on the transmission from the Momogram model and also the water pump as I wanted to plumb in the radiator...
Built up the Lindberg Blower mounting the pulleys with alum tubing and plumbing in hard fuel lines from 1mm polished alum tubing and scratch built fittings from hex and round plastic rod. Repaired damaged chrome plating with bare metal foil and Molotow pens...

Scratch built some headers from slash cut alum tubing fitted onto the nubs of the solid tubes on the Lindberg kit manifolds:
Scratch built a fuel pump from the core of the kit pump, brass rod and drilled hex rod:
Wired the Magneto and scratch built some wire seperators to keep everything in order...
Threw it all together with the Monogram valve covers modified to fit, added a blower belt, wired the starter motor and it looks pretty good!

Next time on to the body mods, wheels and tires.
I realise big scale modelling is a minority interest, but hope this has been entertaining.
Will put up some of my more traditional 1/25 builds at some point.
Toodle Pip!
