been awol recently
Thu Dec 09, 2021 9:10 am
hi guys
thought id better let you know why ive not been around recently...........not been the best of times
to cut the story short the wife is in hospital with kidney failure
in the last 10 days we have twice been told she has at most 48 hours left but shes still here
shes had a drain put into a kidney to bypass her bladder which seems to be working
last 2 days she has been needing a blood transfusion of a couple of pints but potassium levels have been too high (what happens when kidneys stop filtering properly)......when they got that down her heart rate went dangerously wobbly.......finally got it it late last night
shes going to daughters for pallative care once shes well enough to leave hospital............she has been fighting cancer for 2 years and that might be the cause of this happening......but the woman is a fighter, she wont give in and keeps bouncing back
so i might not be contributing much for a while

Oh my goodness Paul, I am so sorry to hear this sad news.
As you know I lost my wife of 42 years in 2017 through similar circumstances, so I know what you are going through.
As Shay says, stay try to stay positive.
If it's OK with you I will ring you tonight.

Oh damn, I'm sorry to hear this, Paul. I'm sure there is nothing that can really be said to make this time any easier but I sincerely wish you the best. Stay strong.
