My Mercedes 190E rebuild is complete. This started out as a curbside glue-bomb rebuilt as a Gasser with parts from my junk box. Highlights are:
- Hood opened (I know ... the grille should be attached) with scoop from an unknown kit.
- Rear tire opening enlarged and front and rear fascia molded in.
- Chassis is from (I think) Monogram's 72 Chevelle that was shortened and gas tank removed.
- Wheels and Centerline Rims are from Monogram's 72 Chevelle
- Straight axel front suspension is a combination of brass rod, scrap plastic and parts box items
- Rear suspension is a NASCAR from an unknown kit
- Engine is from MPC 55 Flip Front Ford pick up with fuel injection from an unknown kit.
- Interior tub is a modified (widened and dash mounts filled) from AMT's 72 Nova. Dash is the Mercedes top with a new front from scrap plastic and decals.
Overall, I was able to jump into this group build that took some long forgotten parts in my bins and gave them new life on my shelf.
A shot out to all who make this forum possible and looking forward to future group builds.
